I wanted to build Fm reciever. I googled for good on-chip heterodyne receiver and found plenty of them. But I found some ICs of sony such as CXA1019,1191,1619,1691 were easily available in market and that too would make a very good FM receiver.
I experimented with plenty of these ICs and found that all these ICs are similar and so have same designs implemented. I looked into datasheet and made plenty of PCbs but most of them were failed. Some would only receive a single station. And some were very noisy. Then I finally concluded with a good PCB and modified circuit that is able to receive almost all the stations with a simple aerial. I am publishing the same circuit here.

Make this circuit in a simple PCB. I printed the circuit in a simple A4 sized paper and iron it onto PCB using hot iron.
It is working great and I could listen to all the FM with aerial. And of course the audio output is pretty fine. A simple audio amplifier using 386 IC would work fine with this system.
The radio circuit fits on a quite small PCB board of around 8cm x 4cm area.
This radio works fine and can be used to receive FM stations with good quality. I have been working on making FM circuits with PLL integrated super heterodyne on-chip FM receiver such as CXA1238/1538 which I will publish as soon as I get success .
